When The Surgery is Closed

When the surgery closes the telephone is switched through to the East and North Yorkshire Ambulance Service (TENYAS), which is a team of doctors who will give advice over the telephone, but will contact the doctor on duty in the area if they feel your call warrants a visit. This system operates an "out of hours" service, including weekends and Bank Holidays.

In cases of emergency, again please ring Richmond 811475. You will automatically hear a message telling you how to contact the TENYAS service - they will advise, contact an ambulance for you if necessary or notify the GP on-call. If you wish to contact TENYAS yourself, please ring York 08450 568060. If there is an emergency which cannot wait for the doctor's arrival - then we suggest you dial 999 and ask for the ambulance service.
